Procession of the Holy Blood in Bruges attracts many spectators

The whole procession is a colorful spectacle with short evocations from the life of Christ, Biblical scenes and historical fragments, such as Diederik Van den Elzas, Count of Flanders, who brought the relic of the Holy Blood from Jerusalem to Bruges in 1150.

This year there are innovations to see, including the Crusaders, the group of Bruges citizens, the rich of the past, so to speak, and also the manger with the baby Jesus. For many people from Bruges, this is perhaps the most important day of the year and they absolutely want to be there as an extra.
