Due to disruptions in the mobile network, the Berlin fire brigade received increased notifications on Thursday afternoon that the emergency call 112 could not be reached.

On the part of the fire brigade, however, the emergency call works, said a spokesman on request. If you can’t get through, it’s because of your own telephone network.

A police spokesman said there were no known disruptions to the 110 emergency call. There were reports of disruptions in the mobile network throughout Germany, and O2 in particular seems to be affected.

The Hamburg police situation center had previously reported via the Katwarn and Nina warning systems that the emergency numbers 110 and 112 had failed. “At the moment there seems to be disruption in the entire Hamburg telephone network. In some cases, both some of our departments and the emergency call 110 are affected,” the police said in a tweet. The cause of the failure was initially unknown.
