André Hazes Jr. and Monique Westenberg were photographed entwined in each other’s arms by a paparazzo from Privé. In the final week of their tour of the United States, the magazine sent a two-man team across the ocean to photograph them.

Private trip

The Private trip resulted in a photo report that leaves nothing to the imagination and which made André’s ex-girlfriend Sarah van Soelen furious. She seems to have thought until the latest Privé cover that he would return to her and now demands to be completely removed from André’s new documentary.

Volkskrant columnist Aaf Brandt Corstius states ‘with her expert eye’ that the photo report is ‘agreed work’ and that André and Monique are even paid for it. Meanwhile, Yvonne Coldeweijer claims that André knew nothing about it, but that Monique tipped the Privé. “1000%”, responds Story boss Guido den Aantrekker.

Evert responds

Evert Sanwaarden, the editor-in-chief of the Privé, is now responding to the rumours. “That was unbelievable, wasn’t it? What a fluke in Florida! Well, it is widely doubted whether they are not behind it themselves, among others by Aaf Brandt Corstius and Marc-Marie Huijbregts,” he says in Show news

Those doubts are unjustified, says Evert. “Really with my hand on my heart: it doesn’t come from Monique, it doesn’t come from André, they weren’t paid for it, they knew nothing about it. And the best proof I can provide is that curious Instagram post of hers, when she said, ‘How much nonsense is taken for truth!’”

Secret of the blacksmith

Monique shouted, a few days before the Privé came out, that Yvonne’s claim about a love reunion and marrying André would be ‘nonsense’. That denial fits in with Yvonne’s theory that Monique tipped de Privé and André knew nothing about it. Monique could then convince André with this apparently ill-timed denial.

Evert: “If she had known those photos existed, she would never have posted it like that, would she? I think so, but it’s also such an unbelievable coincidence. It is also always the blacksmith’s secret how we work, but this is such an exceptional story that Edwin Bredius (the reporter on site, ed.) and I have decided that we are going to tell it anyway.”

unbelievable coincidence

When will the monkey come out of the sleeve? The day after tomorrow, in the new edition of Privé. “It’s really been an incredible coincidence to find them in that huge America and that huge Florida in that Orlando area. But it worked and also in less than an hour approximately. It really is a bizarre story.”

“That Edwin said, ‘I should have bought a ticket in America that day’, because it was such an incredible coincidence. And people who keep claiming that it was André and Monique themselves – someone even said (put on a crazy voice, ed.) ‘one thousand percent!’ – well… Not really.”

So that ‘someone’ is Everts competitor Guido. It’s no secret that the gentlemen can drink each other’s blood.

left-wing elite

Albert Verlinde then about the involvement of Aaf and Marc-Marie in this matter: “How special is it actually that the left-wing elite, because these two really are, in the week of the allowance affair and the war and such, it is worth to talk about this.”

Evert: “I also briefly contacted Aaf to say: ‘It really isn’t true.’ He had to laugh about it, to start with that we had contact about it. (…) André and Monique knew nothing about it. In fact, there was no further contact with André and Monique after that.”

“All know-it-alls who think they know what’s going on are patently wrong.”
