The duo robbed a jewelery shop in Essex County, just north of London, on September 27, 2021. The brothers managed to get in by threatening staff, police said. Once inside, they stole an employee’s Rolex watch and searched a staff area before leaving in a getaway car after the alarm went off. The robbers had a knife and an ax with them.
The brothers were only arrested in June last year. That happened after one of them was checked with his car by patrolling officers. They found the two masks and the clothing used during the robbery. There was also a bag containing, among other things, an ax and knife. The DNA of the men was found in the investigation of the latex masks.
The police report that the watch, worth £15,000 (16,900 euros), has never been found.
