King Charles Kustaa is in Mexico. Princess Victoria is the head of state of Sweden for a week.
Crown Princess Victoria is now in charge of Sweden. Victoria will deputize for her father, King Charles Kustaa, for a week, until March 16. King and Queen Silvia are on a state visit to Mexico and will return to Sweden on Thursday.

As written in Sweden’s form of government, Crown Princess Victoria can act as the ruler’s deputy.
The purpose of Kaarle Kustaa and Silvia’s trip is to “strengthen good relations” between Sweden and Mexico. Swedish entrepreneurs and other state representatives are also traveling with the monarch.
This is Kaarle Kustaa’s third trip to Mexico. He made his previous trips in 1982 and 2002.
