RoyaltyThe wedding ceremony of Princess Maria-Laura (34) and her soon-to-be William Isvy, which will take place in the Brussels City Hall and the Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint Gudula, has started. It will be a well-filled day for the princess and the royal family with undoubtedly many emotional moments. Meanwhile, the royal guests have made their appearance.
The civil wedding takes place in the Brussels town hall. The ceremony lasts about half an hour. Only the intimate circle is present. In the afternoon, it’s off to the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula for a wedding ceremony presided over by the Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels Jozef de Kesel. A total of 500 people were invited to attend the wedding in the cathedral. The service starts at 2:30 PM and lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. During the service, Catholic and Jewish songs will be performed.
Meanwhile, the royal guests have arrived. It is about King Philippe, Queen Mathilde, Princess Delphine and her husband and many others. Albert and Paola are also present, although they had considerable difficulty climbing the stairs of the town hall. It is the first time in months that Albert and Paola have appeared in public again.
The bride has opted for a striking outfit. “After the engagement images, in which she wore bottines, this is a new first: Maria Laura is wearing a mini dress for her civil wedding,” says royalty expert Joëlle Vanden Houden, who wrote the book ‘Royal Style’ and follows up the event. According to Herve Verhoosel, the couple’s spokesperson, the dress is from fashion label Prada.

Five witnesses have been appointed for the wedding ceremony. These are Elisabetta de Belgique, Ferdinand Brunet, Astrid and Joseph von Liechtenstein and Olympia Napoleon-Bonaparte. Elisabetta de Belgique, known as Lili, is the wife of Prince Amedeo, Maria Laura’s eldest brother.
Princess Astrid and Prince Joseph of Liechtenstein have also been asked. In addition, there is Olympia Napoleon Bonaparte. She married Jean-Christophe Napoléon Bonaparte, but is the daughter of the sister of Prince Lorenz and thus the niece of Maria Laura. Finally, there is the unknown name Ferdinand Brunet. He may be a friend of the couple.

The princess’s wedding continues, despite the death of the British Queen Elizabeth. However, the couple was very moved by the news. “During the religious celebration on Saturday afternoon, a moment of prayer and reflection will be dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” said Herve Verhoosel, the couple’s spokesperson.
Maria Laura, 34, is the eldest daughter of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz. She has lived and worked in London for years. Her fiancé William Isvy (30) was born in Paris and is the son of a British mother and a French-Moroccan father. William Isvy spent most of his childhood in London, studying finance in Montreal, Canada. He currently works in London in asset management. The couple share a passion for travel and tennis.
