Princess Madeleine asked the police for help securing the home

Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill have been getting help securing their villa for almost two years now.

Princess Madeleine, 39, and Chris O’Neill, 47, and their children moved to the United States, Florida in 2018. They first settled in Miami, Pinecrest’s affluent neighborhood, but soon the family was subjected to a burglary.

The thieves broke into the family home in 2019 at a time when the entire house was empty. Among other things, Vorot caught wristwatches from O’Neill’s Rolex collection and a safe was found thrown into the courtyard pool. Madeleine in particular was said to have felt insecure and insecure after the burglary.

Since then, the family has moved into a luxury villa close to their former residence. Expressen reports that Madeleine and Chris have sought police assistance numerous times since moving. The couple has asked for additional support to secure the home and the villa was also thoroughly screened before moving in.

According to Expressen, police records show that the authorities have visited the villa more than a hundred times. Security visits, or so-called “watch orders,” have taken place regularly since the summer of 2020.

Police commissioner Jason Cohen states that such orders can be authorized for a number of reasons.

– These can be, for example, leaving the city, fear or being royal, he explains.

There have usually been one on-call visits a day, but according to press reports, there have been periods when police have stopped at the princess’s address up to four times a day. Sometimes it can be months between visits.

The duration of visits has usually been between five and ten minutes. Indeed, police statements often repeat the same pattern.

– The gate is closed, there are no visible signs of criminal activity.

Mr Cohen emphasizes that this is a service which is available to all in the Community, not just a royal privilege.

Madeleine and Chris were married in 2013. The couple has three children in common, Princess Leonore, 8, Prince Nicolas, 6, and Princess Adrienne, 4.
