Sweden’s Princess Estelle, 11, and Prince Oscar, 7, pose in a recent joint photo both alone and with their parents.

Today, June 6th, Sweden celebrates national day, which is why more and more adorable pictures of the family in national costumes were published. The family has published the National Day photos, which have become a tradition, since Princess Estelle was born in 2012.

The family visited Gripsholm Castle in Mariefred. The castle was built by King Kustaa Vaasa in 1537. Every year, the Swedish Court arrives to celebrate National Day in the historical castle premises.

In the photos, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar pose side by side inside the castle, and in addition, a joint photo of the entire family from the castle’s courtyard has been published. In the group photo, the whole family smiles broadly at the camera, and in the photo you can’t help but pay attention to the resemblance between Oscar and his father Daniel in their similar suits.

This year’s national day is significant in terms of Swedish history. 500 years ago on this date, the king Kustaa Vaasa was crowned king and the Kalmar Union between the kingdoms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden broke up.

The royal couple will visit the municipality of Strängnäs today in honor of National Day. Kustaa Vaasa was crowned king in the specific municipality. King Kaarle Kustaan is expected to give a special speech to the residents of the municipality, and there will also be an event in the cathedral.

In honor of the day of celebration, the royal palace is, according to tradition, open for free to all who wish. Crown Princess Victoria opened the castle gates at 10 o’clock local time.

Swedish television also shows the official celebration of the National Day.
