Many people do not know what sweet nicknames prince William’s and in Duchess Catherine’s family of three children, family members are used.
The nickname of Prince George, 9, and his siblings Charlotte, 7, and Louis, 4, for their father was revealed in 2018. Catherine revealed in the middle of an interview that her firstborn son George tends to use the nickname Pops after his father. Pops is a colloquial nickname for father, whose equivalent in Finnish could be, for example, faija.
Princess Charlotte wrote a letter to her late grandmother Princess Diana last year. In the letter, Charlotte called her father by the nickname Papa.
In 2019, Prince William called Charlotte Mignonette at the Chelsea Flower Show. The word comes from the French word mignon, which means small and sweet. Kate revealed in the same year that she calls her daughter Lottie.
When Catherine was still expecting the couple’s firstborn son, George, William and Catherine used to call George Grape.
The youngest of the family, Louis, is called Lou Lou within the family.
Prince William and Duchess Catherine married in 2011. Prince George was born about two years later. Prince George is currently third in line to the British throne, right after his father and grandfather Charles.
