Pieter-Christiaan Michiel Prins van Oranje-Nassau, Van Vollenhoven was born on March 22, 1972 in Nijmegen. He has three brothers: Prince Maurits (1968), Prince Bernhard (1969) and Prince Floris (1975). He is the nephew of King Willem-Alexander.
Youth Prince Pieter-Christiaan
The prince grows up with his brothers and parents near Het Loo Palace in Apeldoorn. Here Pieter-Christiaan also goes to primary school and later, like many royals, to the Stedelijk Gymnasium. After graduating from secondary school, the prince studied law at Utrecht University. He started his studies while he was still completing his military service with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.
Much later, in 2018, it turns out that his time with the Marechaussee was still useful: since that year he has been representing the Marechaussee at large so-called gendarmerie meetings as a reserve colonel.
Busy Bee
Prince Pieter-Christiaan is also chairman of the Milan Ops consultancy. He also works for Milan Innovincy and Tardis Research BV and is a co-shareholder of Certus Port Automation. Like many other royals, Pieter-Christaan also fulfills a number of roles that are more advisory in nature: he is chairman of Laureus Nederland, chairman of the Advisory Council of Keolis Nederland BV, chairman of the Association of Security Professionals Netherlands and ambassador of the Red Cross. and the Princess Margriet Fund.
His great love Anita
Another thing to be proud of is the marriage that she has with Anita van Eijk. The couple married in 2005 in Apeldoorn, in Paleis het Loo. After two days, the ecclesiastical blessing of the marriage took place in the Grote or St. Jeroenskerk in Noordwijk. And still, even after sixteen years of marriage, the love between the two is still there.
Children
In November 2006, just over a year after their wedding day, the first and only daughter of Pieter-Christiaan and Anita was born. Her full name is Emma Francisca Catharina, but her nickname is Emma. Presumably named after Queen Emma, the great-grandmother of Princess Beatrix. In 2008, the arrival of a second child, a son named Pieter, completed the family. His full name is Pieter Anton Maurits Erik, with a clear reference to Pieter-Christian’s eldest brother Prince Maurits.
sizable villa
Prince Pieter-Christiaan and his family live in a gigantic villa in Wassenaar. In 2016 he bought the house and paid almost € 2 million for it. Without a mortgage, by the way: the prince was able to pay for the house, with a living space of no less than 430 square meters, six bedrooms and four bathrooms, out of his own pocket.
Prince Pieter-Christiaan on social media
Another striking fact about Prince Pieter-Christiaan is how active he is on social media. He places on his Instagram and Twitter much about his private life, but also about current events. From TV programs to situations in society, Pieter-Christiaan shares a lot and often about it. In any case, he is a socially involved royal: for the Giro555 action day for Ukraine, he, like many other well-known Dutch people, was also on the telephone exchange to accept donations.
Birthday Prince Pieter-Christiaan
After two years of corona measures, it is extra nice that this year, on his anniversary birthday, practically everything is allowed again. Many details about how the prince celebrates his fiftieth birthday are not known, but we can assume that it will be a nice party. Especially with the lovely weather today (and the rest of the week)! He did share his birthday breakfast on Twitter: a delicious pancake with fruit.
