Primera División – After 4-1 against San Sebastian: Real Madrid stays on course

Madrid (AP) – Real Madrid has consolidated its lead in the Primera División with a well-deserved home win. Without the injured ex-national soccer player Toni Kroos, the traditional club won against Real Sociedad San Sebastián 4-1 (2-1) and thus remains fully on course for the championship.

Mikel Oyarzabal gave the guests from the Basque Country the lead with a penalty kick (10th minute), Eduardo Camavinga (40th) and Luca Modric (44th) made the turnaround before the break. Top scorer Karim Benzema (penalty kick/76th) and Marco Asensio (79th) then made the home win perfect.

With 63 points now, the Whites maintained their comfortable lead over pursuers Sevilla FC (55) and Betis Sevilla (46/one game less).

Former world champion Kroos is still hoping to play in the second leg of the Champions League on Wednesday against Paris Saint-Germain. The midfielder injured his thigh in training. PSG won the first leg 1-0.
