Prime Minister Rutte will visit Israel and Egypt on Wednesday, March 13. The visit starts in the morning with a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in Jerusalem. Later in the day, Prime Minister Rutte will meet with Egyptian President al-Sisi in Cairo.
The situation in the Middle East is central during the meetings. The humanitarian situation in Gaza and the importance of an immediate break in fighting and the release of all hostages will be discussed. The need to prevent regional escalation and achieve a sustainable solution to the conflict is also discussed.
Prime Minister Rutte also speaks with President al-Sisi about bilateral cooperation between the Netherlands and Egypt in the areas of the economy, green hydrogen and migration, among other things.
