Prime Minister Rutte will pay a working visit to the province of Groningen on Friday, September 29. The visit focuses on the future prospects of children and young people in Groningen.

In Hoogezand, the Prime Minister will discuss with children, employees of a primary school and with employees of ‘Time for Future’ about tackling inequality of opportunity among children and young people in the region. Time for the Future is a multi-year program that focuses on extra time for talent development, physical and mental health, broadening the view of the world and reducing disadvantages.

Prime Minister Rutte visits a primary school in Woltersum. Here he speaks to children about the impact of the earthquakes and what their ideas are for the future. He will also talk to residents of Woltersum about the consequences of the earthquakes, damage repair, the reinforcement operation and the future prospects of the children and young people in the village.

In the margins of the visit, the Prime Minister will meet with regional administrators. The visit to Groningen was originally scheduled to take place in July, but was postponed due to the debate in the House of Representatives following the resignation of the Rutte IV cabinet.
