The visit to Berlin starts at the Hertie School of Governancewhere Prime Minister Rutte will give a short speech and answer questions from international students about geopolitical developments and the role of Europe.
Prime Minister Rutte will then be received by the Chancellor Scholz. During a conversation and a working lunch, they will discuss current topics in the run-up to the European Council, such as the EU enlargement process and the European budget. The war in Ukraine and the situation in Israel and Gaza are also important topics of discussion.
The visit to Berlin ends at the Federal Council, the representation of the sixteen German state governments. Prime Minister Rutte speaks here with the current Federal Council President Schwesig and several other prime ministers of German states.
