Prime Minister Rutte to India for G20 and economic mission | News item

Prime Minister Rutte and Finance Minister Kaag will participate in the G20 summit in New Delhi, India, on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September. Subsequently, on Monday 11 September, the Prime Minister will visit Bangalore, India, as part of an economic mission.

At the G20 summit, in which the Netherlands is participating at the invitation of current G20 chairman India, the world’s largest economies discuss a range of topics related to matters such as financial stability, economic growth and development. The focus of India’s presidency is to make agreements on economic growth, digital transformation, climate finance and food security.

Following the G20 summit, Prime Minister Rutte will travel to Bangalore, in the state of Karnataka. Here he will open an economic mission of more than sixty companies and knowledge institutions on Monday 11 September, led by VNO-NCW chairman Ingrid Thijssen.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will meet representatives of the Indian state of Karnataka, visit the Dutch Consulate General in Bangalore and hold talks with Indian companies that do business in the Netherlands or are interested in doing business in the Netherlands. Prime Minister Rutte will also visit an innovation lab of the company NXP and, together with representatives of the local government, will conduct a round table discussion with Dutch companies that are active in Karnataka. The visit will be concluded with a network reception, where various partnerships between companies, knowledge institutions and government agencies will be signed in the presence of the Prime Minister.
