Prime Minister Rutte will travel to Bulgaria on Monday 16 May 2022 for a visit to the Dutch military personnel who participate in the NATO force and a meeting with Prime Minister Petkov.
During the meeting with Prime Minister Petkov in Sofia, the war in Ukraine is at the top of the agenda. Subjects such as energy, the rule of law and anti-corruption and trade cooperation between the Netherlands and Bulgaria are also discussed.
Prime Minister Rutte will also speak with representatives of civil society organizations involved in promoting the rule of law in Sofia. He also has a meeting with experts in the field of innovation and smart horticulture.
The Commander of the Armed Forces, General Eichelsheim, is also present during the visit to the NATO troops.
