Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness has informed British Prince William and his visiting wife Catherine that the Caribbean island wants to become “independent”. Jamaica became independent from the United Kingdom in 1962, but is still part of the Commonwealth, which has Queen Elizabeth as head of state.
