Irish clothing retailer Primark is expanding its partnership with Spanish recycling specialist Recover. With the launch of a new casualwear line, Primark will become the first retailer to use Recove’s sustainable RColorBlend fiber on a global scale.
The RColorBlend fiber is a blend of recycled cotton made from textile waste and gently dyed recycled polyester. The new collection in collaboration with Recover will include t-shirts and sweatshirts in a range of colors including grey, blue and pink and will be available in select stores across all 14 markets in Europe and the US.
The partnership is part of the retailer’s sustainability strategy, Primark Cares, which aims to have all garments made from recycled or more sustainable materials by 2030 and make eco-friendly fashion affordable for everyone.
“For change to happen across the fashion industry, we need partnerships and collaboration. We will continue to invest in partnerships like this to achieve our goal of becoming a more circular business and reducing our environmental impact,” said Lynne Walker, director of Primark Cares in a statement.
