Fingrid, which is responsible for Finland’s electricity transmission core network, offers its own Hourly Price application for mobile devices, which allows you to monitor the electricity exchange price in Finland. The application is available for Android from the Google Play application store and for iPhone from the App Store.

Fingrid says on its website that the price information comes from electricity exchanges, such as Nordpool. Electricity exchange prices are the property of Nordpool, so Fingrid is not allowed to publish them on its website, but they can be found in the application.

Through the application, it is possible to choose whether the price of electricity is shown with or without tax. You can also add according to your own electricity seller’s margin.

It is possible to set alarms in the application, in which case the user will immediately receive information about an increase in the price of electricity above a certain limit. This way it is possible to save money and use electricity when it is the cheapest.

– You get the best benefit from the Hourly Price service if the user’s electricity consumption is measured hourly, the electricity seller invoices based on hourly measurements, and the customer buys his electricity with an hourly priced electricity product tied to the electricity exchange, Fingrid says.

The application is really simplified and it offers a chart where you can follow the development of the price of electricity. Unfortunately, the graph is not responsive and cannot be viewed further. Pressing the “Show hourly prices” drop-down menu opens a view where the prices are announced every hour.

Many utility companies offer similar features in their apps.
