Price draws the first consequences after the end against Clemens

The former darts world champion Gerwyn Price drew the first consequences after his drastic announcement immediately after the World Cup against Gabriel Clemens.

The Welshman deleted all posts on his Instagram profile, the account with over 227,000 followers is completely empty. The world number one had previously announced that he was “not sure if I will ever play at this event again”.

Price went on to explain after the 1: 5 in the quarterfinals against Clemens in the cryptic post: “It’s so frustrating when you play for the whole year to prepare for this one tournament. I’m so disappointed that they didn’t let me play .” Price was, as so often, booed by the spectators at Alexandra Palace.

Price usually incites, and often provokes, such hostile sentiment. In this case, however, the atmosphere made sure that he felt impaired and tried to find his way back to his game with large hearing protection and to throw Clemens off the hook.

However, the announcement should not be taken too seriously. In the past, the 2021 world champion had often announced consequences out of emotions, but then did not implement them. The posts on Instagram can be restored with a flick of the wrist.
