Price back on Instagram after turmoil at the Darts World Cup

Less than 48 hours after his retirement from the Darts World Cup in London, Gerwyn Price reactivated his Instagram profile and is now active again on the social network.

On Tuesday evening, the “Iceman” wrote a story congratulating the new world champion Michael Smith from England on his title.

“Congratulations Michael Smith. Well deserved. Many more to come. Enjoy,” Price wrote using the hashtag #numberone. Price had lost the top spot with his 1:5 defeat against the German Gabriel Clemens in the quarterfinals.

Just minutes after the bankruptcy, Price made a cryptic post saying he was considering never playing at Alexandra Palace again.

The next morning, all the photos and stories, including the threatened World Cup boycott, had suddenly disappeared from the platform.

Around the 37-year-old – former rugby professional – there had been turbulence again and again in the past few years after the World Cup.

A year ago, Price called for the World Cup to be held in Wales to ensure more justice.
