FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” on priorities/G-20 summit:
“The cooperation with the emerging countries was more important to America and Europe than another gesture of solidarity for Kiev. The existence of the G 20 is therefore secured for the time being, but its importance is not yet. The admission of the African Union could make it more attractive and prevent the (. ..) BRICS network continues to gain in importance. But the West has (…) demonstrated that the G 20 is currently not the place for strategically important projects. The infrastructure project from Asia via the Middle East to Europe (.. .) is a counter-project to Beijing’s new Silk Road and aims (…) to bind the sought-after host India more closely to the West. In the West’s relationship with China, on the other hand, there will be rivalry for the foreseeable future, as with Russia anyway. That reduces the potential of the G 20.”/zz/DP/he
