President Francis Pierrel resigns

The US clothing retailer Urban Outfitters and Francis Pierrel went their separate ways after just a few months. The manager left the company, the retailer announced on Friday. Pierrel was named Urban Outfitters Group President in February, overseeing the chain’s North American operations.

The former CEO of the fashion brand Club Monaco came to Urban Outfitters in the spring with some advance praise. On the occasion of his appointment, the company praised Pierrel’s “impressive background in omnichannel retail and wholesale business”.

In recent months, however, the retail chain has had to accept a significant drop in sales, while the Anthropologie Group and Free People concepts, which also belong to the Urban Outfitters Inc. group of companies, have been able to achieve growth.
