He cycled through Rehoboth Beach where he has had a house on the coast since 2017. It is approximately 125 miles south of his large home in the suburbs of the Delaware capital, Wilmington.
Biden was not born in the state, but studied there and became a lawyer in Delaware in 1969. Four years later, he was elected to the federal Congress as a senator. Delaware has been his home ever since. Before and after his election as president, he was often accused of hiding in the small state, which is only about 100 kilometers from the capital Washington.
