US President Joe Biden made an urgent appeal on Tuesday to his compatriots to get vaccinated, US media have tweeted.

Those who have been vaccinated can “celebrate Christmas with peace of mind”, according to the head of state. “If you’re not fully vaccinated, you have good reason to be concerned,” Biden said.
Almost everyone who has died of Covid-19 in the past many months had not been vaccinated.
“The unvaccinated are at significantly higher risk of ending up in hospital or even dying,” he warned. “Almost everyone who has died of Covid-19 in the past many months had not been vaccinated,” the president added.
“All those people who have not been vaccinated: you have an obligation to yourself, to your family and frankly – and I know I will be criticized for this – to your country”; bye Biden. “It is your patriotic duty.”

The Democratic president said he and his Republican predecessor Donald Trump have both already been boosted and it could be “one of the few things” the duo agree on.

“I know you’re tired…and I know you’re frustrated. We all want this to be over. But we’re still in it,” said the head of state.
The president stressed that his country is “ready” to fight the omikron variant of the corona virus. That variant was responsible for 73.2 percent of new infections in the US in the past week.
