Dieuwertje Blok started in 2001 with the presentation of the Sinterklaas journal, which she became most famous with. She did that for 23 years, until she announced in 2024 that she was suffering from skin cancer and that her nose had to be amputated.

It was intended that she would be in her place again in 2025, but the cancer returned. In January 2025 it became clear that she was incurably ill.

Nederhorst den Berg

Blok spent her childhood in Nederhorst den Berg. She later moved to Amsterdam, and from there to Aerdenhout.

In December she was appointed Knight in the Order of Oranje-Nassau. At the presentation of the ribbon, her whole family and the entire crew of the Sinterklaas journal was present.
