In the morning of Sunday, June 26, 2022, presenter and program maker Luuk Dresen passed away at the age of 27 in his hometown of Amsterdam. Luuk was extremely talented and full of ideas and plans. A true creative who was at the start of a promising career in the Dutch media, with a recently completed master’s degree in Communication Science,” his relatives said on Instagram.
“Luuk’s name went around at various editorial boards, at program makers and producers, because he was razor-sharp and knew how to bring heavy fare with the necessary lightness with his knowledge. This allowed him to appeal to a wide audience. He wanted nothing more than that. His dream to entertain, touch and inspire others has come to an abrupt end,” the post continues. “The remark ‘I’ll do it myself’ made him a multi-tasker. His perseverance was unprecedented and his work ethic unrestrained. His inexhaustible enthusiasm was contagious on everyone. Luuk was always there for others and that is how we will remember him.”
Talent award 2021
Many celebrities reflect on the sudden death. “So unreal. How I enjoyed you. I will miss you friend”, writes Tim Senders. “What an immense sadness, it is incomprehensible. A lot of strength to the family, and all Luuk are loved ones”, Quinty responds Trustfull. Robbert Rodenburg and Miljuschka Witzenhausen also express their condolences.
Chantal Janzen also shares the tragic news with her own followers. “I don’t want to write this message at all. But it has to. Because everyone should know how fun, sweet, talented and ambitious you were. You were always and every day, every moment in my opinion, busy with new plans, projects and creating possibilities. After our workshops I was allowed to present you with the ‘&C Talent award 2021 for presenter’, and you were more than deserved. “You’re going to be a big one,” we said. And that would really have come true,” Chantal Janzen writes with a photo of them together.
She continues: “Dear Luuk, what an unimaginable amount of loved ones you will leave behind with great sadness, because I think you were loved by so many. You just turned 27. This morning the news came to us that you were suddenly gone. Difficult to understand. Incredibly cruel and harsh. I will never forget your smile and infectious enthusiasm. Not all of us at &C. You were part of our family. And that will always be the case. Thank you dear Luke, for all the beautiful moments. All the best to family, friends, loved ones.”
In addition to being a presenter of New Guests also one of the faces of the online series Heart on the Tongue from Heart of the Netherlands. He also presented the podcast H from Hetero on JUKE.
