With the new Px8 wireless headphones, the renowned British audio brand has Bowers & Wilkins has once again outdone itself: It was only in June 2023 that the Px8 wireless headphones were named the test winner among over-ear headphones by Stiftung Warentest. What makes the model so special? Here are the answers!
Bowers & Wilkins impresses with its technical finesse
The latest model with active noise canceling sets new standards in the wireless headphones category in terms of sound, construction and workmanship. The Px8 was awarded an overall grade of 1.7 by Stiftung Warentest – no other of the twelve over-ear headphones tested performed better. The Px8’s sound was particularly highlighted, and the model also stood out with its exceptionally long battery life of 30 hours, remarkable durability and the absence of any significant pollutants.

Unique Hi-Res sound
Inspired by the carbon dome tweeters of the highly successful Bowers & Wilkins 700 speaker series, the Px8’s bespoke drivers are crafted with carbon fiber diaphragms and positioned at an angle in the ear cups to ensure the same distance from the user’s ear at each point. This creates a particularly spatial and precise soundstage and reduces distortion. The result is the best sound quality Bowers & Wilkins has ever achieved with a wireless headphone. The heart of the Px8 is the acoustic platform, which the Px7 S2 is also equipped with. The latter is already considered one of the best-sounding headphones in its class.
The Px8 also features Qualcomm’s aptXTM Adaptive wireless technology to achieve the best possible sound quality from compatible smartphones, tablets and computers. USB-C and analog 3.5mm cable connections are also supported and are included in the included case.
Thanks to digital signal processing, outstanding Hi-Res sound quality is guaranteed from common streaming services. With the introduction of the Px8, the Bowers & Wilkins Music app has also been upgraded to allow music streaming directly to the headphones to ensure even greater user convenience. This means you can stream your favorite music directly from a mobile device to your headphones. Music services such as Deezer, Qobuz and TIDAL are supported.
Active noise canceling suppresses unwanted noise without affecting the music quality. To achieve this, six powerful microphones work together: two measure the output power of each driver, two react to ambient noise and two ensure excellent voice quality when making calls using improved noise reduction.
Px8 wireless headphones impress with their high-quality design
The premium design of the Px8 from Bowers & Wilkins is just as impressive as the sound quality. The headphones impress with new, high-quality materials such as an aluminum bracket and shiny “diamond-cut” details around the elliptical emblem.
For ultimate comfort, the ear cups, memory foam ear cushions and headband are covered with soft, high-quality nappa leather. User-friendliness also played a major role in the design process. This is evident, for example, from the fact that the controls on the earcups allow effortless control even without a music app. Px8 users can also activate their smartphone’s voice assistant with one tap. And if the battery is empty after 30 hours of running time, a 15-minute quick charge provides another seven hours of listening pleasure. This means users never have to go without their favorite music for a long time.
The Px8 is available in Royal Burgundy, Beige and Black Bowers & Wilkins and available from selected retailers at a price of 699 euros.
