London (AP) – Manchester United has kept up with the Champions League places in the English Premier League. After two games without a win, coach Ralf Rangnick’s team drew 3-1 (0-0) in the catch-up game at FC Bentford in London.
Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the starting XI after his injury at United. But others scored the goals: Anthony Elanga (55′), Mason Greenwood (62′) and Marcus Rashford (77′) scored within 22 minutes. Ivan Toney’s goal (85′) came too late for Bentford. Manchester remains seventh.
Steven Bergwijn was the hero in Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-2 (1-1) catch-up game at Leicester City. The Dutchman came on in the 79th minute and turned the game around with two goals in added time (90+5/90+7). Patson Daka (24th) gave the hosts the lead, Harry Kane (38th) equalized for the guests from London before the break. James Maddison (76th) brought his team forward again – until Bergwijn’s late double strike. Tottenham are now fifth with Leicester tenth.
