Liverpool extends winning streak
Liverpool, meanwhile, have managed their eighth win in a row and remain close behind leaders Manchester City. Jürgen Klopp’s team deservedly won 2-0 (1-0) at Brighton & Hove Albion. Luis Díaz (19th minute) with a header and Mohamed Salah (61st) with a penalty scored the Reds’ success.
Diaz couldn’t celebrate his goal at first. The Colombian was hit on his header by the Brighton goalkeeper and was down when the ball landed in the net. After a short break, Diaz was able to continue playing and was eventually named “Man Of The Match”. The template for the lead came from former Schalke player Joel Matip.
Salah makes everything clear
A former Bundesliga professional was also involved in the Reds’ second goal. Former Leipzig Naby Keita shot Yves Bissouma in the outstretched arm. Top scorer Mohamed Salah sunk the hand penalty due dryly in the middle of the goal for his 20th goal of the season.
Four days after reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Liverpool remained on course for four possible titles this season. The gap to Premier League leaders Man City was three points after 28 games. The two teams will meet in April in a direct duel.
