Of the Liverpool FC has signed Dutch international striker Cody Gakpo. For the PSV Eindhoven it is a “record transfer”.
The attacker last showed strong performances at the World Cup in Qatar and scored three goals in five games. As his previous club PSV Eindhoven announced, the 23-year-old striker is traveling “immediately to England”to complete the formalities necessary for the change.
The club did not give any precise information about the transfer fee for Gakpo, who was originally tied to Eindhoven until 2026, but PSV managing director Marcel Brands spoke of one in the club announcement “Record transfer” for the people of Eindhoven. The sports portal “The Athletic” assumes a fee of between 40 and 50 million euros.
