Trainer Erik ten Hag will start the season in the Premier League with his new club Manchester United on Sunday, August 7, with a home game against Joël Veltman’s Brighton & Hove Albion. The English top league presented the program for the new season on Thursday.
The Premier League kicks off on Friday, August 5 with the London derby between Crystal Palace and Arsenal. National champions Manchester City will play at West Ham United on the same day as fellow city rivals United.
Virgil van Dijk’s Liverpool, which finished second last season at 1 point from City, will start on Saturday with an away game against the newly promoted Fulham.
Public holidays
Traditionally, football matches are also scheduled during the December holidays. The duels on Boxing Day are extra special this year, as these are the first games after the World Cup in Qatar. On December 26, Manchester United will play at home against Nottingham Forest, who are back in the Premier League after a 23-year absence. On New Year’s Eve, Ten Hag and his team will visit Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The last round for the World Cup will be played on November 12, when Ten Hag will play with United in London against Fulham.
