Five minutes before the break, the Uruguayan had a chance to increase, but he hammered the ball against the post. When Núñez was substituted after just under an hour, the fans in Anfield celebrated him with chants.
West Ham – with Germany international Thilo Kehrer in the starting eleven – were awarded a penalty for a foul by Liverpool’s Joe Gomez on Jarrod Bowen after video evidence. The fouled man kicked himself in just before half-time, but keeper Alisson parried the shot and held on to the victory for the “Reds” even in the wild final phase. Liverpool thus improved to seventh place in the Premier League table for the time being.
Manchester United defeats Tottenham

Chelsea drop points under Potter for the first time
Of the Chelsea FC dropped points for the first time under his new coach Graham Potter. At the local rival Brentford FC the Londoners came to a goalless, performance-related draw with national player Kai Havertz in a fast-paced game. Chelsea remained fourth in the table after the 0-0 draw.
