Dreaming of the Champions League, thanks to the teenagers’ goals. Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton never stops and also wins at Bournemouth with goals from two boys born in 2004. Ferguson and Enciso score one goal each and drag the Seagulls to -4 from third place. In the seventh day’s recovery, Leeds and Aston Villa also won, respectively against Nottingham Forest and Leicester. Instead, the big match between Chelsea and Liverpool ends 0-0, valid for the eighth round of the Premier League. The Blues, led for the first time by Bruno Saltor, leave the field with a bitter taste after two goals canceled by the Var.

CHELSEA 0-0 LIVERPOOL

After the 4-1 defeat against City, Klopp upsets his starting eleven. Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Salah and Gakpo started on the bench. Bruno Saltor makes his debut in Chelsea, interim coach after Potter’s sacking: the first few minutes are encouraging, only Chelsea can be seen at Stamford Bridge. Kovacic and Havertz try to score without success, James finds it but is offside. At the half hour mark Liverpool still hadn’t entered the opposing area, but the Reds picked up the pace just before the break: Nunez tried from distance and Kepa blocked, then Fofana deflected Fabinho’s shot for a corner. In the second half, Kai Havertz wins a rebound with Alisson and scores the 1-0: here too, however, the Var intervenes, signaling a touch of the German’s hand. Klopp shuffled the cards and sent Salah and Gakpo onto the field, but the Reds managed just one shot on target after the break. The match ends in clean sheets, with a useless draw for both teams.

BOURNEMOUTH 0-2 BRIGHTON

The match was balanced, but in the end De Zerbi won 2-0 and brought home the seventh consecutive useful result. The Seagulls closed the first half ahead 1-0, thanks to a magic of the 18-year-old Ferguson, pupil of the Italian coach. In the 28th minute, the Irishman added a cross from Mitoma and, with a back-heel, placed the ball in the corner. In the second half, Bournemouth pushes in search of a draw, Brighton resists and then doubles with another born in 2004: the 2-0 goal is signed by the Paraguayan Julio Enciso, who displaces the former Juventus player Neto in the 91st minute. De Zerbi is now at 46 points, -4 from the Champions area.

LEICESTER CITY AS. VILLA 1-2

Gassed by the success achieved against Chelsea at the weekend, Villa wants to play the match at the Foxes’ home too. In the first 20′, Emery’s team suffered from the dribble of Leicester, who dominated the match but failed to score. The visitors, on the other hand, took the lead at the first good opportunity, with Watkins scoring the eighth goal in his last ten outings. Parity was re-established after 10 minutes: in the 35th minute Barnes ran away down the left and burned an opponent, entering the area and mocking Emiliano Martinez. In the second half, Leicester took a big risk: in the 70th minute, Dewsbury-Hall, already booked for a foul on Young, landed the former Inter player again and left him in ten. The final 1-2 was born from an intuition of the newcomer Traoré: on the pitch for two minutes, the 27-year-old intercepts a ball in the trocar and shoots on goal with first intention. The ball sinks below seven, Villa wins and reaches seventh place in the standings. The Foxes, on the other hand, are unable to get out of the relegation zone.

LEEDS-NIGHT. FOREST 2-1

A quarter of an hour from Forest, then it’s the Leeds show. At Elland Road, Freuler and his teammates start strong: Dennis hits the post in the 8th minute, Mangala hits the bottom corner in the 12th minute. Nottingham’s lead, however, didn’t last long: in the 20th minute Harrison made it 1-1 with a winning tap-in. Leeds’ extra man is Luis Sinisterra, who drives Neco Williams crazy in the left lane. In the recovery of the first half, the Colombian moves towards the penalty area, seats the Welshman, then shoots at the far post and completes the Peacoks’ remuntada. In the second half, Leeds failed several times to close the match, but luckily for them, Forest felt the pinch and, after a 2-1 draw, were no longer able to worry their opponents. Gnonto, back from injury, remains on the bench but celebrates with his teammates: Leeds are now +2 on third from bottom.
