18 million plus in the update
Brighton & Hove Albion have made a name for themselves as one of the Premier League’s best selling clubs in recent years – Kaoru Mitoma is likely to be among the most expensive departures if he leaves the club in the coming years. The 26-year-old winger not only increased his market value in the last update by 18 million to 50 million euros, the second highest value for the “Seagulls” behind Evan Ferguson (65 million), but has now also extended his contract, which originally expired in 2025, for the long term.
As the sixth-placed team announced, the Japanese international is now tied until 2027. Signed from Kawasaki Frontale in 2021 for just €3 million and then loaned out to sister club Royale Union Saint Gilloise for a year, Mitoma has enjoyed rapid development in Brighton. In 52 competitive games he has scored 13 goals and twelve assists to date. Coach Roberto De Zerbi described him as “our top player” in the club statement.
