Sending off Koulibaly
With Thomas Tuchel on the bench, Chelsea suffered their first bitter defeat of the season. The Blues clearly lost 3-0 (0-2) at Leeds United on Sunday and are only in mid-table after three games with four points. Despite his suspension from the game after the altercation with Tottenham coach Antonio Conte last weekend, Tuchel was on the bench because the penalty was suspended until the regulatory commission issued a written justification.
Chelsea invited the hosts to take the lead from former Leipzig coach Jesse Marsch with a major goalkeeper error. After a back pass, Edouard Mendy frittered the ball away to attacking attacker Brenden Aaronson, who effortlessly put the ball into the empty goal to make it 0-1 (33rd minute). Before the break, Spaniard Rodrigo headed a free kick into the far corner to make it 2-0 (37′).
After the change of sides, the Tuchel team was mostly only dangerous with long-range shots. The defense of the hosts with former Freiburg player Robin Koch had few problems with the Londoners. Leeds, on the other hand, were cold as ice: Jack Harrison completed a counterattack to make it 3-0 (69th). Shortly before the end there was the next setback for Chelsea: new signing Kalidou Koulibaly had to leave the field with a yellow-red card, the central defender saw the second warning for a tactical foul.

While West Ham remain at the bottom of the table with zero points, the current leaders are FC Arsenal, who won 3-0 (2-0) at AFC Bournemouth on Saturday and celebrated their third win on the third matchday. The goals for the Gunners were scored by Martin Ødegaard (5th and 11th minutes) with a brace and William Saliba (54th).
