Pregnant Bibi Breijman: ‘Waylon showers six times a day because I can’t tolerate odor now’ | Show

Bibi Breijman, who is pregnant with her third child, has such extreme morning sickness that she has already been admitted to hospital five times. Her boyfriend Waylon has to shower every now and then because the singer can no longer tolerate odor.

Breijman (32) already suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness characterized by weight loss, malnutrition and dehydration due to extreme vomiting, during the pregnancies of Teddy (5) and Chester (1). If not treated properly, it may even be necessary to terminate a pregnancy early.

This time, her first symptoms started at the end of her fifth week of pregnancy. By eating something every few minutes she managed to suppress the nausea somewhat, but that turned out to be a vain hope: soon she could not even keep down a sip of water or a few bites of an ice cream. For her it feels most like she has a ‘double tequila hangover with food poisoning’.

She ended up in the hospital five times in a short time due to dehydration, and therefore had a feeding tube. “I have been lying in bed for the fifth week now with the curtains closed and all the windows and doors open because I cannot tolerate any smell,” she says in her Instagram Stories with a photo of her lying on the bed with the tube in her nose . This helps ‘enormously’, she reports, because it has reduced vomiting from twelve times a day to once or twice. “Some days it’s just gagging.”

‘He catches my barf’

Sometimes her boyfriend Willem Bijkerk (singer Waylon’s real name, ed) and the children come and lie with her because she misses them so much. He takes care of the family day and night – if he has to work, his parents or her parents help out. ‘He washes my hair, catches my barf I wake up and shower six times a day because I can’t stand the smell. Some of her followers are wondering what she got into her head by getting pregnant again. Breijman is brief about this: she shares a photo of one of her children. ‘This’, followed by hearts. “It’s like giving birth, they made me kind of forget about it.”

The couple announced the day after Sinterklaas expecting a third child. That was still early in the pregnancy, but because of all the visits to the hospital, Bibi wanted to tell her anyway. She finds it difficult that she cannot take care of her children and occasionally pours out her heart to her loved ones. She clings to the idea that “this will really end one day.”
