The Adler Mannheim are in the quarter-finals of the German Ice Hockey League. The Mannheimers also won the second game in the pre-playoffs against the Nuremberg Ice Tigers. The series will be played in “Best of Three” format.

After the 2:1 on Sunday in their own hall, the Adler now won away 6:3 (1:1, 2:0, 3:2). Evan Barratt had already given the Ice Tigers the lead after 29 seconds, but Leon Gawanke (19th) equalized in the first third.

Ryan MacInnis (30th) and Tyler Gaudet (38th) then scored in the middle third to give Mannheim a two-goal lead. The Eagles quickly got rid of Nuremberg’s goal in the final third by Constantin Braun (48th) and restored the old gap through Jordan Szwarz (49th).

But then things got really exciting again. Danjo Leonhardt poked the puck over the line for Nuremberg three minutes before the end to make it 4:3. But once again the Eagles had an answer ready – David Wolf and Daniel Fischbuch made the final score 6:3 with empty net goals in the 59th and 60th minutes.

The Eagles now face the Eisbären Berlin. From the quarter-finals onwards, the series will be played in “best of seven” mode, so you need four wins to advance.

Sharks lead against Ingolstadt

In the other duel of the pre-playoffs, the Kölner Haie and ERC Ingolstadt face each other. There, Cologne leads the series 1-0. The next game takes place on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. (live ticker at sportschau.de).

The main round winner Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven is waiting for the Haie or the ERC.
