The Prada Group announced its entry into the ‘Global Compact’.
The Italian company will become part of the sustainability initiative launched by the United Nations (UN) for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices, the Prada Group announced on Tuesday.
A UN initiative, Global Impact calls on companies to align their activities and strategies with ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and anti-corruption. They should also take action to support the UN’s goals and themes set out in the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Prada Group is one of a total of 15,000 companies that support the initiative, which was launched in 2000. This has a further 3,000 signatories outside of business in over 160 countries.
“By joining the United Nations Global Compact, the Prada Group reaffirms its commitment to more sustainable development that can create long-term values for the entire community to shape the future we all want,” said Lorenzo Bertelli, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Prada Group. “Joining forces through synergies between actors from different sectors with common goals is crucial to achieving real change.”
