Practice campaign: PSV and Willem II beat foreign clubs

PSV and Willem II won their exhibition matches against foreign clubs on Saturday. The Eindhoven team triumphed against the Spanish Real Betis (2-1). And the Tricolores surprised by beating Olympique Lyon from France: 5-0. NAC, FC Eindhoven and TOP Oss also came into action. An overview.

PSV – Real Betis: 2-1
‘Ready for the start of the season’, PSV writes after the 2-1 victory over Real Betis. Rightly so, as the opponent finished fifth in the Spanish league last year. Cody Gakpo scored the first goal before halftime. After tea, Juan Miguel Jimenez Lopez hurt PSV with a corner: 1-1. Phillipp Mwene put the final score on the scoreboard with the winning goal for the Eindhoven team. With that, PSV seems to be ready for the Johan Cruijff Scale match on Saturday next week. National champion Ajax is then the opponent.

Willem II – Olympique Lyon: 5-0
Willem II has given Olympique Lyon a suit. In Tilburg it was no less than 5-0 on Saturday for the Tricolores. One side note: the French top team, started with many reserve players.

7,500 spectators were able to cheer five times in Willem II’s stadium. In the sun they saw Willem II, who had been relegated from the Eredivisie, playing football in a flash. In the first half, Freek Heerkens and Jizz Hornkamp (2x) were accurate. After the break, Jeremy Bokila and Nick Doodeman also scored.

NAC Breda – FC Eindhoven 1-0
NAC and FC Eindhoven also practiced on Saturday. A goal from Odysseus Velanas, in the 82nd minute, was enough for the Breda team to beat the Blues and Whites. The exhibition game was played in the sports park of RKSV Rood-Wit in St. Willebrord. Doubly painful for Rob Penders: the FC Eindhoven trainer played for NAC for years and his team also suffered the third loss in a row.

NAC took office without Dion Malone. The 33-year-old defender makes according to the club transfer-free to the Cypriot Karmiotissa FC.

TOP Oss – TEC Tiel 2-1
