Tilburg GroenLinks councilor Esmah Lahlah is number two on the GroenLinks-PvdA candidate list. Sources report this to the political editorial staff of RTL Nieuws and De Telegraaf.
It became clear earlier that Frans Timmermans heads the joint list. The top 5 exists according to RTL News continues from the current GroenLinks faction leader Jesse Klaver, PvdA MP Kati Piri and GroenLinks MP Lisa Westerveld.
Poverty
Lahlah has been a party-independent councilor in Tilburg since 2018. Many people know her as the councilor for Poverty Alleviation. She received a lot of attention nationally when she voluntarily went on social assistance for a month. In 2021 she won the title of best local director.
Lahlah was then described as a committed, effective and empathetic councilor. Her Tilburg portfolio included social security, labor participation, an integrated approach to asylum and integration and global awareness.
