Postal and parcel deliverer PostNL expects to have to raise prices as a result of high inflation. As a result, the costs for the company have increased and consumers order fewer parcels. PostNL reports this during the presentation of the quarterly figures.

Petrol prices are one of the drivers of the sky-high inflation and PostNL also feels this when it comes to delivering parcels.

The company also notices that we spend less money due to the price increase. According to the postal and parcel deliverer, this is noticeable in the amount of parcels that are processed.

PostNL tries to keep those higher costs within limits, but says that this must be accompanied by raising prices. “It is clear that these higher costs cannot only be compensated by improved efficiency and productivity. Price adjustments will also be necessary in the near future,” said PostNL top person Herna Verhagen.

It is not clear exactly what will become more expensive and by how much those prices will increase. In the past, the company raised the prices of, for example, postage stamps or sending parcels.
