Post-apocalyptic cyber distopia: Muse sing about the “Will Of The People”

The Bombastrocker Muse have released a new song. “Will Of The People” was released on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022, along with the video – just in time for the planned festival appearances by Matt Bellamy and Co. in Germany.

Watch the video directed by Tom Teller, which takes us once again into some kind of cyber dystopia:

The repetitive core line “The will of the people, the will of the people, the will of the will of” should remind quite a few of Marilyn Manson’s “The Beautiful People”, the images in the video – for example the “Ministry Of Truth” – on George Orwell’s “1984”, Bellamy’s lead song in the finale to glam rock.

“Will Of The People” is the title track from Muse’s new album of the same name, which is due out on August 26, 2022. Before that, they already released the pre-single “Compliance” and heard:

Muse’s still current, eighth album SIMULATION THEORY was released in 2018. Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard will appear at “Rock am Ring” and “Rock im Park” next weekend, and a weekend later they will be headliners at the Tempelhof Sounds Festival in Berlin, presented by Musikexpress.
