Possibly particles containing asbestos were released during a barn fire in Huizen

A fire broke out in a barn on the Damwall in Huizen last night around 11:35 p.m. The fire brigade has announced that asbestos-containing material has probably been spread.

The flames came out of the barn and damaged another barn. The fire brigade late via X know that the fire was quickly brought under control and subsequently extinguished. No houses were damaged and no one was injured.

The fire raged in solar panels and in material that probably contained asbestos. Pieces of this may have ended up in nearby gardens. The fire brigade warns not to clean up these pieces yourself, but to pass it on to the landlord.

The fire brigade is investigating the cause of the fire, nothing is yet known.
