For fourteen days I watched Tijl Teckmans during his trial as an assize reporter. “A sexually disturbed pervert and a nuclear psychopath”, is how the psychiatrists described him. Undoubtedly correct. But I mainly saw a combination of an injured boy and a bloated frog. And a man who took sardonic pleasure in teasing the rest of the world from under his nails.
