Porsche: the new PCM entertainment system

The Porsche in-vehicle entertainment system is enriched with a major update. The sixth generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) available on the Cayenne, Panamera, 911 and Taycan will integrate new multimedia and connectivity functions, with graphics developed with customer recommendations in mind. Among the most interesting innovations, navigation with a program for planning charging during the journey for the electric Taycan. The new technological proposal will be standard on all new models and also available for download on cars already on the market.

The revamped interface features a different, color-coded arrangement of icons, designed following the advice of Porsche customers. To make the use of the applications more intuitive, the use of the voice command has been improved, which now allows you to view the front pages of newspapers on the internet, access streaming music and consult the electronic user manual of the vehicle. Among the most innovative multimedia functions, the possibility of using your account with a Spotify subscription without having to connect your mobile phone. The music service application is already installed on the Porsche entertainment system. To access the profile, simply enter your username and password directly from the screen and then play songs and listen to podcasts.

Also updated the navigation algorithm for Taycan which will calculate the recharge times more precisely. By setting the destination, the system identifies the columns giving priority to the quick ones along the route, suggesting stops and informing about waiting times at the station necessary to continue your itinerary. The user can choose in detail, through a system of digital filters, which columns to display on the map in order of kW supplied. A very useful optimization to support those who use the electric car also to face long and demanding journeys.
