Poroshenko urged to arm the army, not to build roads

Ukraine does not plan military actions against Donbass, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said today, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada. And there he reported on the help of the West – mainly weapons.

The art of war that did not start, and how to use it, have long been understood in the Rada. A number of officials report from the rostrum: there will be no power cuts, there are enough coal reserves. The military department also seems to be reassuring: the likelihood of a large-scale escalation considered low. But at the same time, they support the degree of tension with such statements, they say, Russia is not withdrawing troops. What dividends are also clear from that speech of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

“We have received more than 2,000 tons of weapons from our foreign partners. 31 flights have arrived in Ukraine, and we are still waiting,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said.

While they wait, they go in Kiev patriotic actions in memory of the so-called Heavenly Hundred – those who died during the Maidan. True, the list of this hundred causes suspicion among many: at least twenty-odd people have passed away for other reasons. But at the same time they receive benefits as heroes. But this is unknown to outsiders.

The day before, British Foreign Minister Liz Truss visited Kiev. She voiced several phrases that have become routine in recent days – about the most serious sanctions for Russia and further down the list. But she came to Ukraine not empty-handed, but with the capital of the crown. The monarchy takes care of Ukrainian democracy.

“When Prime Minister Boris Johnson was last in Kiev, earlier this month, he announced that the UK would provide £88 million to support democracy in Ukraine and its energy independence. Today I can announce a further increase in our assistance – an increase in up to £100 million for these projects,” Truss said.

Hearing that Ukraine had negotiated more money, the country’s foreign minister showed the highest level of diplomatic etiquette.

“I will not be present throughout your speech, I completely trust Liz Truss,” Kuleba said.

And Truss is left alone, waiting for questions. But silence, they are not. Meanwhile, the Rada continues to insist on building up military potential: Poroshenko, the ex-president, proposes to curtail all construction projects. On them, they say, and so they steal.

“Zelensky must appease his corruption appetites on the Great Steal, sew up his pockets and transfer the money to the army! Good roads are certainly needed. But not for Russian tanks to drive along them. Or for them to be bombed by Russian aircraft,” Poroshenko calls .

And the current president, Zelensky, declares from a high rostrum: panic over rumors of an “invasion” is working against Ukraine. And it is absolutely impossible to conduct social and economic policy. But statements are one, but in reality weapons to the country goes on without interruption with the submissive silence of the Ukrainians.
