Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he will appeal the court’s decision to confiscate his passport to travel abroad. Broadcast from the courtroom led TV channel “Ukraine 24”.
“This is a restriction (withdrawal of a passport. — RBC), taking into account the fact that I have at least three foreign visits planned, hinders my political activities. <...> This is exactly what he is afraid of [действующий президент Украины Владимир] Zelensky. The answer will not only be in the form of an appeal,” Poroshenko said.

On January 19, the court did not arrest Poroshenko, as required by the prosecution. He chose a measure of restraint for the former president in the form of a personal obligation, and also ordered him to hand over his passports to travel abroad.
