Porcupine Tree, the formation around musician and producer Steven Wilson, have announced a tour for the coming year. Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri and Gavin Harrison will complete three shows in Germany.
Earlier this year, the band reappeared with their new studio album CLOSURE / CONTINUATION after a break of more than ten years. Our review is here.
Why her comeback couldn’t have been more appropriate
No one expected Porcupine Tree’s dystopian-tinged lyrics to be so relevant a decade or so after their hiatus. As sobering as that fact may seem, Porcupine Tree’s unexpected comeback timing mid-year was all the more fitting.
In 1987 musician and producer Wilson (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards) formed the band. At the same time, Wilson’s post-rock duo No-Man was formed, along with Tim Bowness. Together with Barbieri on keyboards and Harrison on drums, Porcupine Tree released a total of ten studio works between 1992 and 2009.
