K – Mail Order GmbH & Co. KG, the main company of the Klingel Group, is selling another brand in its portfolio.
The new owner of the plus-size fashion brand Miamoda is the Popken Fashion Group, the Klingel Group announced on Monday. The family-run company, which specializes in plus-size, previously took over the Happysize brand from the Klingel Group. As with the previous acquisition, the sale of Miamoda includes both the brand name and the associated customer addresses and inventory.
“The discussions with the Popken Fashion Group about Miamoda were very positive,” said Klingel managing director Marcus Katholing. “This was to be expected, as the negotiations for Happysize have already led to a successful sale.”
The Popken Fashion Group’s portfolio includes the brands Ulla Popken, Laurasøn, Studio Untold, JP1880 and, from January 1st, Miamoda and Happysize. The company sells its brands through online shops and in its own branches in more than 30 countries.
K – Mail Order GmbH & Co. KG, the main company of the Klingel Group based in Pforzheim, has been in self-administration insolvency proceedings since May 2023. After the group was unable to find an investor for the entire company, the cessation of business operations was announced at the end of August. At that time it was said that there were some interested parties who wanted to continue to operate individual bell brands under their own management from the beginning of 2024. With the sale of Miamoda, the fourth bell brand has now found a new owner.
